We don't often take the time to discuss celebrity ad campaigns, as these days it has become so ubiquitous it's almost a cliche that designers will drag a well known celebrity in front of the camera to model their goods and wares. So when we do mention such things, it is because it is a little out of the ordinary. We think Metallica modelling for ultra high-end menswear brand Brioni qualifies.
Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo, collectively the legendary Heavy Metal band Mettalica will be Brioni's models for 2016.
While in one sense this seems an odd choice, as the refined elegance of Brioni seems a world away from the gritty, hard edged world of headbanging heavy metal, if you think about it objectively, a group of super rich, ultra famous people such as the members of Metallica are in fact the precise demographic able to actually afford Brioni's clothing, as at £5,000 for a suit or blazer, they are out of most peoples reach.
