The famously successful internet meme started from a simple sussex bookshop and made famous around the world as an example of British Wartime Stoicism has been played out to absolute distraction and destruction.
What was originally discovered and merchandised as an example of simpler times and simple toughness in the face of adversity has been coined, adapted and punned to the point where its seemingly final iteration simply said 'meme meme memey meme'.
But it's death nell has been well and truly sounded now, as its has become more than simply mainstream, but rather worse, has entered the halls of Luxury and Consumerism. There is of course nothing wrong with Luxury or Consumersim, as that is exactly what we write about here, however there is something a little wrong where a supposed symbol of strength and Britishness is turned into a sparkly candle and shiny earrings with seemingly no concern for anything other than the chance to make a quick buck (or quid).
If anyone disagrees the earrings are by Chloe and are around £70, and the candle is produced by Icon Candle and is £25, they can be fond at various different places online, along with some other Luxury Iterations of the Keep Calm and Carry merchandise, plus the earrings are available in blingly gold plate.
