Bang & Olufsen have long been respected and revered for producing exceptionally pretty and high quality equipment, although critics claim their pricing is a little excessive, no-one can deny their equipment is far above the ordinary. One other thing Bang & Olufsen are particularly well known for is sitting on the fence, that is to say, taking a very long time to actually incorporate modern technologies into their equipment, for example, they only just released a dedicated ipod dock in the last 4 months, not much needs to be added to that in terms of explanation.
This trend however, seems to be one that as a corporation they may be changing, 3D technology has only been around for a year or so, and Bang & Olufsen have already announced a 3D version of the 85cm Beovision 4 Television.
Pricing is not yet available, it will probably be around the £10,000 mark though. Does this mark a new direction for Bang & Olufsen? Will we see them rushing products to the market to compete and be ableto say 'look we have all the new tech in our ranges'? Most unlikely, more close to reality is they will start to incorporate technologies into their existing products, if indeed they do change any element of their corporate strategy at all.
