Chucs have been going for around 3 months now, and have gotten some mentions in the style publications such as Esquire, GQ and Vogue. Vogue particularly since the owner a Mr Charles Finch, as well as being a film director and Marketing Guru, is a regular columnist in Vogue, and Conde Naste publication GQ.
Following a store in Dover Steet and a boutique in Harrods 5th floor, He has produced a capsule collection of pieces designed according to the spiel for 'dive' and 'mountaineering', in reality we have a collection of swimwear very similar to Vilebrequins, with a selection in the dive shop of 4 beach short styles, polo and t-shirts, espadrilles and a couple of other accessories, and in the 'mountain' shop, pretty much the same, but with the addition of a jacket, some trousers, shirts and knitwear.
It's frankly all quite nice, and certainly excellent quality, the concept is good, for those with a bit of spare cash going on a certain type of trip, shall we say a getaway, gap year, bit of exploring etc, it's a one stop shop, but all the products it has to be said are pretty ordinary, nothing really stands out, save one.
The stand out item in the collection combines utility with style, a very special bonded cotton T-shirt, made with a performance fabric which provides an SPF factor equivalent to 50, it is available in an arresting vibrant yellow colour, with Chucs logo on the front.
Chucs complete range is available from their dover street store, and their swim range can be also purchased from Harrods Fifth floor, the UV T-Shirt we mentioned here is priced at £150.
