Karung, is the industry name for the skin of the Acrochordus Javanicus Snake, also known as Java File, or Elephant trunk Snkae, these snakes inhabit shallow tropical lagoons in South East Asia, and Eat Fish and Eels, growing up to some 8 feet in length, these Non Venomous snakes have particularly tough, yet soft skins, that make them perfect for the luxury goods industry.  Only their rarity makes them difficult to obtain, a fact reflected in the pricing of Karung leather goods.
