As Dior have not announced officially the sales figures for their first edition mobile, we only have their word for it, but apparently it was a roaring success, so much so that they have decided to go and make another one, this time a touch screen version.
The press release attached to this new handset is pretty vomit inducing, going into reams of detail about the Haute Couture background of Dior, and how this is represented in the body of this new handset, and how every time you turn it on it welcomes you to the 'unique atmosphere of 30 avenue montainge' blah, blah blah.
But all we are really interested in is the specs and the price. On the construction side of things, the stand out feature on Luxury Handsets, we have a unit which is hand made from 99 components, sapphire crystal, steel, gold, diamond and mother of pearl, finished with the caning motif which is reminiscent of the Napoleon III chairs Dior's clients sat during his first Couture show in 1947, available in Red, White or Black, and with a matching leather case in the same Caning Motif.
Fully touch screen, 5 megapixel camera, 103.1 x 50.3 x 12.8 mm, 137 grams, fully media capable, instant email, web browser, android phone, so capable of utilising all android apps.
And the price? £3500.
