Relatively new brand Lana Marks, having been established in 2004, has in the seven years since its birth become a world famous go to brand for wealthy socialite types. Born from the imagination of its founder and Namesake Ms Lana Marks, the brand was created while trying to find a matching handbag for a red suit, this inspired her to create a brand making bags in exotic leather that feature a wide range of colours. The resultant brand produces a key range of classic shapes, such as the Diana Bag (named after the founders friendship with the Princess) pictured above, in a selection of some 150 colours of Alligator, Ostrich and Lizard Leather.
As well as producing all this excellence, Lana Marks has an additional claim to fame, each year for the academy awards, one celebrity has a custom made clutch for their outfit, known as the 'cleopatra clutch' each handbag features the Lana Marks signature exotic leathers, with a contour flap featuring precious stones in precious metals. Each clutch is unique to each ceremony, for 2008 the model was carried by Julie Christie, and was valued at £90,000, using pink fancy diamonds, and a fan of precious stones, pictured above, for the 2007 academy awards, Helen Mirren carried a £200,000 version encrusted with precious stones, and in other years celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet, Angelie Jolie, and Julianne Moore have during different ceremonies carried unique versions of this clutch, not to mention the scores of Society types and Celebrities who buy from Lana Marks.
