One thing which makes Consumers think twice about Bang & Olufsen's high concept Beosound 5, is the puzzle of being able to get one's music onto the thing. It's all well and good to trumpet the 'new world of digital music' but the fact remains, people still like to remove the majority of their music from their CD collection, especially the more Mature consumers which have the free capital to invest in these systems, and who have a CD collection built up over many years of collecting.
So with this in mind, and in a timely release designed to capitalise on the run up to christmas, Bang & Olufsen have announced and released in the same stroke, the above CD ripper add-on for the Beosound 5, that will allow users to copy music directly onto the hard drive of the natty little system.
The price is not cheap, at £800, but if you have already invested some £5000 in the Beosound 5 and its Hard drive controller, plus speakers which can cost up to £35,000, there is a good chance that an extra £800 to free up your CD collection probably won't even give you pause for thought.
