The second such set from Hennessy Cognac, the first having been released in mid 2010 in a strictly limited edition of 150, and with a hand made case by Berluti Shoe-makers, this new offering hopes to be no less special.
On this occasion Hennessy have limited the run to a slightly more generous 300 pieces, and the case itself is also quite different on this occasion, whereas the Berluti case was a solid trunk, with map prints etched into the leather, and with a stunning crocodile motif clasp, this new version comes in a Lamb leather case designed by Arik Levy, not the first time Levy has worked with Hennessy, as he designed a special bottle for them at the start of 2010 to commemorate their 140th anniversary.
Aside from thee differences the new Methusalem also comes with a pipette, so you may measure the exact correct amount of Cognac each time, and keep for the future presumably.
This is part of Hennessy's ongoing strategy, which is to release something special at the start of each year, although it is undoubtedly a nice release, it is a shadow of the Berluti release, however, in reflection of this, the Berluti Methusalem was £20,000 and was only released in Asia and Russia, whereas this release will be available worldwide and will cost only £2500.
