Hello 2012, but what does the year have in store?

Another year has come to an end, we have all had time to recover from the festivities by now, and most of us are enjoying a Bank Holiday and wondering to ourselves, what does 2012 have in store?  What happening in the world this Year?  What will the world be going crazy for?

The Ipad 3 is set for release in the first quarter of 2012, apparently Foxconn, Apple's partner and producer of most of their products is currently in production already, and will by february have increased their production run to accomodate for expected demand when it is released.  Expect to see the possibility of the Retina display, HD facetime camera, and at least a 5 megapixel camera for video and image capture on the back.

Le iPhone Sanq is expected to be released this year also, apparently it will be released in the second part of 2012, as yet no specifics have been announced, numerous rumors about fires in factories delaying release etc have attempted to make these delays plausible, but the fact is that it is Apple's notoriously tight Security that has ensured as little as possible is known about this new device.  Possible inclusions may be a 4" screen, NFC technology, Aluminium back, no physical home button, slimmer and lighter, however, all this may change completely on final release.

On the Blackberry side of things, they seem pretty happy with their range of handsets at present, and therefore have made no annoncements on that front, nor have any rumours leaked, but the Playbook Blackberry released has gotten nothing like the kind of exposure Blackberry hoped for, and so they have announced a february 2012 release date fot the Playbook mark 2.0.  No specs yet, but there's only a month away.

Ferrari hits it's 70th Anniversary this year, and on all special anniversarys they release special cars, normally a F series, this year is no different, the image above is the new Ferrari Enzo FX70, which will be abbreviated to the 'F70', just as all the previous F series have.  Specifications are not available yet, but frankly there is only one spec we all care about, the price, in this case we are talking £500,000 plus.

On the other side of the supercar fence, Lamborghini will be releasing the follow up to the Murcielago, codenamed the 'Jota' it might look the the image above, however that is only a rendering, so we may never know, what is for sure is, with the Murcielago now discontinued officially, Lamborghini have a great big £350,000 super-car shaped hole in their portfolio that will be filled by the end of 2012.

Loro Piana will be expanding their range of Sunglasses by the Power of one for the 2012 Spring/Summer collection, and will be releasing the Frames shown above, utilising the same exclusive N.P.E.L.P. lenses so talked about from their other frames, these aviator style frames will feature Titanium lightweight frames, and will retail for £1030, £180 more than their other frames.

To be released at SIHH 2012, this Patrimony Traditionelle from Vacheron et Constantin is set to be a barnstormer of a collectible, with a tourbillon, 14 day power reserve, the caliber 2260 inside this wrist-watch has some 213 components, along with a sapphire crystal back to be able to see the movement in all it's beauty, no pricing info yet.

And of Course, 2012 is the year of the Olympics in London, this is worth mentioning for many reasons, not least because it's a globally significant event, but also by mentioning it in passing, we ae able to allude to the hundreds of new hotels being erected as a result of this event, many are luxury, and too many are there to mention in detail, but there you go, Olympics and new hotels.
