Versace Get on the Kid's Bandwagon with it's first "Young Versace" store in Milan.

Our Recent post on Gucci's new Kid's range discussed both the morality of overcharging for such excesses as crocodile effect leather jackets for children that they will grow out of in a matter of months, and the rapid expansion of this new and burgeoning Luxury trend.  Less than a month later, we report on  Versace's first store in Milan capitalising on that same trend with "Young Versace".

Whereas Gucci have for some time been retailing a children's collection for Versace, this is both a new store and a new direction for the brand, retailing the collection which debuted as recently as last June at Pitti Imagine Bimbo, which contains pieces for children from infants right up to age 12.

The collections are the epitome of miniaturised Versace, Glamorous and excessive, with heavy touches of luxury, as the concept sketches at the bottom of this post show, with leopard print and swarovski crystal baby bottles, fairytale dresses and mini suits with silk cumerbunds, dressing ones children in Young Versace will make sure they are if not the most stylish, then certainly the most glamourous.

As for the store, lilac and white dominate the colour scheme, along with a fairytale like theme of giant candy canes, with in the centre of the store a luxurious roundabout formed of lilac leather bound chairs on a solid lilac base, the store is sort of like walking into an exceptionally high end baby girls bedroom.

Available now from the capsule store in Milan, and worldwide as of Spring/Summer 2012.
