New for 2012, young artist Billie Achilleos has been commissioned by Louis Vuitton to create a unique and whimsical collection of Animals shaped from Louis Vuitton Luggage. In fact, this collection is a little older than 2012, it was created back in October of 2011, it's 30 pieces debuted in the famous Parisian Taxidermy Strore 'Deyrolle', and managed to find their way into a second display in the Louis Vuitton Omotesando, what is new for 2012, is that they will be going on a world tour, from Louis Vuitton store to store around the world, so everyone can get the chance to see them.
This is far from the first time an artist has either worked with Vuitton, or attempted to create something for them, the famous Murakami collaboration for one, which has borne fruit into an entire ongoing collection, the difference here, is as with all officially sanctioned works, the slick presentation that goes with working with one of the largest and richest corporations in the world.
Please browse the gallery below, which shows most of the pieces, and view the video at the bottom, which shows the creative process that went into one or two of these animals.
