Loro Piana's New Catalogue for the Spring/Summer 2012 season has been released, and alongside the normal fare of standard items in new fabrics, such as a roadster in light baby cashmere, they have released a completely new collection, entitled the "My Golf" collection, it does as the name suggests target itself specifically at golfers and the pursuit of the sport of Golf.
These items were designed to be worn by golfers in the Pevero Golf Club "Loro Piana Cup" on the Emerald Coast in Sardinia in June 2011. They have obviously given the collection alot of consideration, no mere smattering of accessories here, it comprises a selection of items of clothing and accessories which allow any golfer interested in using Loro Piana as their outfitter a compete top to toe outfit, including even the ubiquitous golf glove.
Prices are as to be expected pretty high, but that is always the case with Loro Piana, they do try to offer some value however, with elegant and technologically advanced garments, specifically designed to cater to the needs of the golfer, such as for example the "My Golf Sweatshirt" with a nylon and wool stretch outer treated with the storm system method, it wil wick away rain and drizzle, the eternal enemy of the golfer, and with a cotton cashmere blend lining, it resolves that other thorny issue of being out in all weathers, cold and breathability. But, at £1345.00 it represents serious investment buying for a sweater specifically to be used for golfing.
