Oliver Peoples Takahiro Miyashita The Soloist for 2012.

For 2012 The ongoing collaboration between Takahiro Miyashita and Oliver Peoples was promised to continue with a new set of Frames, originally intended for the Asian Market only, however, the clever marketing bods at OP have decided that we westerners deserve a pop at buying these without needing to pay import taxes, and have released them here also.

The collaboration includes two unisex frame styles, both shown here on male and female models in the Oliver Peoples Spring/Summer campaigns, and has a circular frame style, which has become quite popular over the last couple of years, particularly championed by Oliver Peoples themselves, and a pair of small Aviator frames, designed primarily to be used as sunglasses frames, both frames are available in brushed silver, pewter and a new antique gold finish.

The inspiration for these is the eyewear of the 20's and 30's, particularly the round styles seen on notable figures of those eras, such as Sigmund Freud, or William Butler Yeats, but not just in the styles do they remind of turn of the century eyewear, also in quality of the construction and small details, such as the top bar and temple plaques, which have been salvaged from stock parts from some three decades ago.

Available in Oliver Peoples Stockists worldwide, priced around £295 per pair.
