Bottega Veneta Book by Tomas Maier, In Leather and Not.

In order to be taken seriously, or perhaps as a mark that your brand has truly "made-it" you need a substantial and heavyweight publication, the sort that will grace coffee tables, be looked at barely once, and then ignored.  Louis Vuitton has several, Goyard have a particularly spectacular one, Loro Piana have a multitude of the things, the list goes on.

With this in mind we turn our attentions to Bottega Veneta, who have produced with the Italian publisher Rizzoli it's first proper pubication.  Entitled simply "Bottega Veneta" as all good first time published works should be, to tantalisingly leave you wanting more, this book details the history of the  brand, from humble beginnings producing finely worked leatherware, to it's most recent excessively luxurious creations, including the development of it's intrecciato leather.  Written for the most part by their famous chef designer, Tomas Maier, it has a foreward by Matt Tyrnauer, and contributions by Kate Betts, Joan Juliet Buck and Ingrid Sischy.

The book will be available in two versions, a standard hardback version with attractive heavy cardboard slipcase, priced at £85 and available in Bottega Veneta stores worldwide and quality Book sellers, and a limited edition version, in plain velum parchment with the legend "when you're own initials are enough" the mission statement of the brand, and slipcased in an Intrecciato leather cover, the limited edition version will be available exclusively from Bottega Veneta stores worldwide, and will cost £450 per edition, limited to 25 editions worldwide.
