Presented here is the upcoming Corum Golden Bridge for 2013, the latest version of Corum's top end Golden Bridge, which has been the signature of the brand since its introduction, and the chief example of the brands dedication to high quality watchmaking.
This new version repeats the Tonneau watch case, with dimensions of 38mm x 56mm, and wil come at first in three variations, 10 rose gold, 5 rose gold with baguette cut diamonds, and 5 red gold with brilliant cut diamonds. No doubt with other editions to follow as with the original.
The signature which made the Golden Bridge such an outstanding watch was the skeleton type movement, all fixed onto a central pillar, hence the "Golden Bridge" moniker, the new Golden Bridge ups the ante a little, by making it 360 degree visible, with side windows to view. If this were not enough, they have also added a Tourbillon, hence the full long name mentioned in this articles title.
On the technical side of things, the movement is a Hand-wound caliber CO100, unique to this piece, with main-plate and bridge of sapphire crystal, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3hz) and has a 90-hour power reserve. the Caliber CP100 tourbillon also has a unique feature, the "flying" tourbillon is so called as it has no upper fastening point, in other words, the entire watch is held together by the sapphire crystal main-plate, creating a stunning visual aesthetic.
The only bad news at the moment is we dont have a price, all is not lost however, using the magical power of Google, we are able to use the skill of "guessing", based on the price of the current model, £40,000 for a solid gold version, we would expect prices for this to start from £60,000 at the absolute minimum, and probably reach a ceiling of £200,000 for diamond versions, don't quote us though!
