Louis Vuitton Damier "Challenge" Collection.

New from Louis Vuitton for Spring Summer 2013, comes the masculine and sporty "Challenge" collection, which has taken the Damier canvas, and created a selection of exclusive, and exciting pieces, all designed for experiencing the most luxurious mountain trail and travelling adventures imaginable.

From the material itself, a reworked ultralight nylon canvas, a sail type material, available in either blue and black, or green and olive, to the details, such as this seasons big colours, the neons seen in the small accessories, to the actual items themselves, there is no doubt these are extremely unlikely to see the summit of any mountains, unless of course the person wearing them has been helicoptered up there first.

The big statement piece is the Damier Challenge Backpack, large at 11.8" x 23.6" x 12.9", it can accomodate any and all your needs, be it shopping, or, god forbid, mountain climbing, it is available in the "Oxygene" colour only, and features fully ajustable side elastic cords and eyelets, velcro closable belt for greater comfort, zipped cap, and a large epi leather and neon detail finished detachable external pocket.  And it costs a mere £9500.

The Damier Challenge Messenger is available in either the green "Kaki" or the Blue "Oxygene", and measures 7.4" x 11.4" x 18", giving plenty of capacity, the bold neon yellow or orange details mean you wont risk being overlooked wearing this, and it is loaded with details, including soft shoulder pad, calfskin and cowhide trim, 2 external water resistant pockets, and 2 internal pockets.  At £2200, this is the most practical and useable of the Damier Challenge Collection.

Finally the Damier Challenge Bumbag comes in two flavours, mildly obnoxious tourist, measuring 3.11 x 7.8" x 12.5", and available only in the Navy "Oxygene" colour with neon orange details, this has a water resistant external pocket, and can be worn as the dreaded bumbag, or carried in the hand by the neon orange carry handle, it costs £1200.

Or, if you really want to show off your tourist credentials, try the "Kaki" green with neon yellow detailing Damier Challenge Bumbag, this baby measures an eye watering 5.5" x 7.8" x 12.5", and comes with a great big epi leather pouch in burgundy clipped on the front also, aside from the epi pouch, it adds a shoulder strap, so it can be worn as a bumbag, if you want to make people vomit, or a carry handle bag, or a shoulder bag, which actually makes it sort of alright in the end.  This version is not cheap though, it costs £3500 per bag.

The Damier Challenge collection is available now until the end of Spring/Summer 2013, and although it is supposed to be a more masculine collection, we can see Women picking up the bumbags and using them quite easily.
