Saint Laurent may have dropped the "Yves" from its name, a move mocked by some, and criticised widely, however, they have far from forgotten their heritage, as this new Monogramme collection proves.
Truly, this is a collection for anyone who fondly remembers the days when Saint Laurent was YSL. Simple, elegant and minimalistic, just the way Yves would have wanted. And, bold and proud on the front of each piece, the classic YSL logo, familiar to everyone from Haute Couture lovers, to blokes selecting a brightly coloured polo from debenhams "YSL pour homme" ranges (not all of Yves Saint Laurents history is positive).
Available in clutch, tote, shopper, flap over, shoulder bag and shoulder bag with tassel, and crafted from a variety of finishes, from colourful fabrics, through calf leathers and right into exotics, all hardware is gold coloured metal, and prices range from £660 for a small clutch in calf, up to £1,590 for the large shoppers in leather, and top out at around £20,000 for the flagship pieces in exotic leathers.
The Monogramme collection is available now, and, we expect it is here to stay. This is Saint Laurent's heritage collection, and will likely be a permanent collection for the foreseeable future.
