Maison Margiela is an odd sort of brand really. Back when it's elusive creator Martin Margiela, part of the "Antwerp six" started it it was a hotbed of creativity, and the odd thing is it still is. Yet it is also responsible for creations such as todays monstrosities, the transparent Tabi shoe.
The split toe look is not new, in fashion or in Margiela, however making them in transparent plastic is a "bold" move to say the least.
Are they ugly? Yes. Are they pointless? Yes. Will your feet stink wearing them? Yes. Should you pay £750 for a pair? No.
