Louis Vuitton Horizon Bluetooth Speaker.

Louis Vuitton is now relatively well known for rebranding tech and overcharging.  For example, the Horizon Wireless Headphones that LV retails for £955 are in fact the Master & Dynamic model MW07 which ordinarily cost £259.  There is no difference between the Louis Vuitton pair and the Master & Dynamic pair, indeed they proudly announce that Master & Dynamic make them, and therefore the sole distinction warranting an additional £600 is the LV branding.

This drew a considerable amount of negative publicity for Louis Vuitton, with a slew of press commentary pointing out the ludicrousness of this, resulting in very few of these selling, and resale costs being a fraction of the original price reflecting the true value of these.  This can be seen by visiting eBay and typing in "Louis Vuitton earphones" or similar, and selecting the "sold" filter, and observing that in the last 12 months only one pair was sold on the platform for £300, and new sets are being offered for as low as £200.  The brand appears to have learned from this experience to an extent, or at least seemingly.  It has announced a new wireless bluetooth speaker, and has not disclosed the manufacturer on the occasion.

The speaker is definitely different, as the images show, it floats on a charging dock and looks like a spinning top, or UFO.  However, in our opinion, with its garish led light up logo branding, it looks much like a cheap market stall speaker that would be mass produced and sold for $10 only to stop working after two or three uses.

The price hasn’t been announced, but expect north of £800, which hopefully will deter people from wasting their money on this tat and will encourage them to invest in a more elegant and functional alternative from brands such as Bang Olufsen or other high-end audio manufacturers.  But probably not though.
