Louis Vuitton Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 Collection

Remember the Louis Vuitton x NBA collections?  No?  Not surprised, they were ugly, forgettable, and impractical.  Well, LV seems to love making flagship products to mark events that no-one actually wants, and for the Fifa Qatar 2022 World Cup, they have done it again.

Te be fair, the collection which comprises the usual suspects, Keepall, Bacpkack etc etc, are not as hideous as some other sporting collabs, like the 2018 World collection that had large ugly white hexagonal designs meant to represent footballs all over them.  The "defining feature" is a net pattern embossed, meant to represent the net which balls are kicked into.  LV being unsubtle should surprise no-one that spends any real time looking at their collections frankly.  But we still wonder, why would anyone be interested in buying these over the classic elegant pieces that made LV famous?

We suspect the answer is no-one would, and LV know that.  These are like unsuccessful flagship stores placed in major metropolitan areas that are not profitable, yet are retained nonetheless to give the illusion of success.  In short, it's advertising.  Gaudy tasteless advertising.

Feel differently?  Pop over to LV's website and snap up pieces that start from £1,200.
