Current wealth events are something we at Disappear here tend to avoid. Far too many blogs fill their pages with not just the useless google linked ad's that make reading their content so difficult, but news stories of rich people spending their money, which makes it more a gossip column than a blog about luxury products.
Occasionally however, a development occurs that is so notable it cannot avoid being reported. We feel that this new Credit Card from J.P. Morgan is just such a development.
In this market so dominated by Black cards, pretty much every level of card company have developed some type of black card, even opus, or granite two of the lowest end Card companies produce their cards in black. Although there is unquestionably no substitute for the genuine American Express Centurion Black card, having a piece of black plastic poking out your wallet no longer has the significance it used to have.
J.P Morgan therefore have smashed every preconception of how luxurious a credit card can be and how exclusive, with this new offering; the centurion was made of titanium, the J.P. Morgan card is made from Palladium, a metal more valuable than platinum. The Centurion had its initials burned into the card face, the J.P. Morgan card has them inlaid in 23 carat gold. And finally with regards to exclusivity, the Centurion card was available only to Platinum card members who either could prove that they had, or could spend, more than £100k a year, the J.P. Morgan card is available only to its private wealth clients, all of whom have an average of £20m in their accounts. Your move American Express.
