New from Dom Perignon for the New Year, comes the fifth collaboration with the Australian artist and designer Marc Newson. After folding bottle boxes, bottle shaped coolers, and various other Dom Perignon themed items in luminous colours, the new "Kyoto" cooler is a totally different direction.
Cast from Pewter, it was made with the assistance of a Japanese company, Seikado, a metal work studio established in 1838 in Kyoto, hence the name. For the design of the cooler Marc Newson was inspired by the armour of Japanese Military nobles.
The Kyoto Cooler will be available worldwide from late January 2013, pricing details are not yet available.
