New from Louis Vuitton for 2013 comes a selection of bags titled "Metis" named after the daughter of the Greek Titans Oceanus and Tethys from Greek Mythology, according to the legend Metis was both wise and cunning, and the name has been chosen as the bags are intended to be multi function, therefore representing wise and cunning investments.
The range at present will include two bags, the simpler named "Metis" is the star, with a semi structured hobo like appearance, and open top, it has a carry handle, and shoulder strap in monogram canvas, additionally the bag has on the fron a envelope style pouch with s-lock buckle, therefore giving the bag the functionality and usability of a tote, shopper, and slightly more formal bag where valuable acan be safetly stored for longer periods, such as nights out. The second bag in the collection is the "Metis Pochette", this bag is much more formal, the multi functionality being concentrated here on how it can be carried, the pochette can be seen on the image at top, and looks more like a traditional ladies purse bag than anything else, on top it has a carry handle, and monogram shoulder strap, it also uses the same s-lock.
Both bags will be available in Louis Vuitton Boutiques by the end of January, and pre release pricing on the larger model states it will be £1300, while the smaller pochette will cost £990, these prices however may be subject to change by the release date.
