Balenciaga Le Dix Bag.

Every brand needs a signature piece, a stand out accessory which makes people look and say "oh thats from x", Lanvin has it's Happy bag, Goyard it's Saint Louis, Louis Vuitton it's Monogram Boston, all these pieces just shout establishment and prestige.

Now, Balenciaga's creative director Alexander Wang is attempting to add to Balenciaga's already impressive range of signature pieces built up over the last century, with inspiration from the motorcycle bagwe all know and love, Wang has returned to Balenciaga's roots and created the "Le Dix" bag, the original name of the ever popular motorcycle bag.  This new piece is a functional and elegant accessory for the modern woman which seems destined to be another Balenciaga signature bag.  with a sleek elegant and dual tine hardware, the bag screams classic elegant style.

The Le Dix is an incredibly important release for Wang, his first bag release since taking over as Balenciaga's creative director, although it would be an exaggeration to say his career at Balenciaga will stand or fall on this, it would certainly help him if the bag is considered a success.  The Le Dix follows the current trend in womenswear and accessories, which is to create versatile and functional pieces that can effortlessly transition from day to night and back again, and have the potential to have lots of capacity for the working week.

The collection starts from £800 for the small pochette, and tops out at £1800 for the large zippered version, the standard version, which is no doubt to be around for several seasons to come, is available in calf leather for £1500.
